Watchmen:
Function:
Based on Isaiah 62, the Watchmen are God-appointed people who intercede day and night by praying God’s heart through Scripture and Revelation (through dreams, visions, words of knowledge and prophetic insight) to establish the Lord’s will on the earth.
Purpose:
A Watchmen positions himself as part of the Watchmen team to walk out their God-given purpose in the House of Prayer. As they hear from the Lord, they pray accordingly, and communicate what they have seen, heard and prayed to the Watchmen Leadership Team. Many of our Watchmen hold shifts in the Prayer Room on a regular basis, many others assist in “covert ops” during other activities within Voice Ministries both on- and off-site.
Role:
The Watchman role is one of a servant. As they come to pray, they are always ready to serve the community, other Watchmen and members of the Worship Teams. Their role is also to maintain their commitment to the time set apart to be on the wall and honor the Lord as we honor one another. A Watchmen’s highest role is to promote unity and to express that unity through a posture of humility and love at all times.
Room Overseers:
Room Overseers take a consistent watch for a two to four hour period in the Prayer Room on a regular basis. They ensure that our musicians are protected from excessive noise, intercede, field questions about the House of Prayer, pray and minister to those who need prayer, and most especially protect the Presence of God in our Prayer Room.
*If you desire to become a Watchmen/Room Overseer, please fill out this brief application, drop it off to Nancy Dudka in our Voice Ministries Office, and you will be contacted. Thanks!
